The Ontology Building package (Jaguar™ and Jager™) is a unique product offering that streamlines the generation, editing, and use of ontologies for any customer and any domain.
If you have a list of words, a taxonomy, a database schema, or an existing OWL ontology, Jaguar™ will use that to guide the ontology building process so that all concepts and relations extracted from your documents will be filtered for semantic relevance against the provided seeds.
The final Jaguar™ result is not only an ontology of all the hierarchical relationships and concepts discovered in text, but also a full set of 26 different types of semantic relations in the form of contextual knowledge. Together the universal knowledge encoded in the ontology and the contextual facts encoded in the semantic relationships provide a complete knowledge base that can be stored in any RDF compliant semantic database such as Oracle's 11GR2 RDF store.
Jager™ is the K-Platform database-backed web application that makes it easy to edit, browse, and review the ontology that is produced by Jaguar™. The ontology hierarchy formed by the Jaguar™ in addition to all the relations associated with a concept are easily accessible and easily modifiable. In addition, the sentences and documents from which each relation was extracted are made available in order to make transparent the source of each concept and relation extraction.
In the figure below an illicit drugs ontology has a branch for criminal organizations under which Heriberto Lazcano is classified as a leader and member of Los Zetas. His association with Miguel Trevino Morales, and his aliases are listed as part of his semantic context, each relation having been discovered from text.
